Iron Horse Barbecue, Inc./Pro Weld Breaks Ground For Expanded Facility

Iron Horse Barbecue, Inc. broke ground for its new facility in White City, Oregon, on May 21, 2007. The new location, which will house both Iron Horse Barbecue, Inc. and Pro Weld, Inc., will be virtually ten times the size of its current operation.

Iron Horse Barbecue, Inc. purchased the land nearly two years ago and closed the construction deal on May 4, which included an SBA and CIT loan. The company has also been working over the past several years with Bank of the Cascades, SOREDI, and Jackson County Urban Renewal to plan its sustained growth in phases.

The Hoppes Construction & Millworks, Inc. will erect an 80 by 120-foot pre-engineered steel building to include a two-story office overlooking the fabrication areas, designed for customer viewing and training purposes. The new facility will contain eight 20-foot bays and enable both Pro Weld and Iron Horse Barbecue to pursue large-scale projects with potential to triple their current workforce. The company currently employs 12 people.

The long awaited facility has been a part of the company’s business plan for years and is finally coming to fruition. “After 13 years of cultivating, stabilizing, and growing our business, we are thrilled to see our desire for a new facility being fulfilled,” said Jim Oberlander, president of Iron Horse Barbecue, Inc. and Pro Weld, Inc.
